Did You Know?

121.8 degrees was recorded last week in New Delhi
It was the highest-ever recorded temperature in the country’s history. Seventy-seven people are known to have died due to the heat. But the number is most likely much higher due to the many communication barriers that exist in India. Some densely populated areas are struggling to access water, while others have none at all as regular water supplies are cut in half to redirect resources. It is not unusual for temps to rise to over 100 degrees in May and June, but never in the 120’s.
This is a time for people everywhere to pray for the people of India as they face this crisis. There are many who do not know what to do as they need to work, even if it is outside in the heat. Poverty can be a deadly plight. May the Lord provide opportunity for the body of Christ to bring relief and care to those in need. May He have mercy on this nation as they endure this extreme heat wave.
Pray also for the 150 staff members of HBI, the 1400 plus church planters and the many church leaders of the over 17,000 churches as they minister to the over 800,000 disciples in their care during this time. |
