15 Jul NEVER GIVE UP
“A mob formed and began to stone him”

“Never give up” seems to be the theme of the INEC church planter in India. I will never forget the story of “Nehemiah” (Ne-HEM-ia), a missionary church planting pastor, who very casually tells the story of going into a village and sharing the gospel with a few people. As a result, a mob formed and began to “stone him,” which meant throwing rocks at him until he had no choice but to leave the village.
Nehemiah fasted and prayed and decided to go back. Again, he was met by a group of people who began throwing rocks. Every time he entered the village, the same thing would happen; until one day, everything changed! Finally, a small group of people listened and wanted to know more, allowing him to stay and answer questions, and thus begin the task of discipleship. Today, Nehemiah has a thriving church in a community where there once was no witness of Christ, after he had been rejected and persecuted.
I have heard so many stories like this since I first was involved with HBI. How many of us would have concluded that it must not be God’s will to go to that village? Commitment and resilience are the character of the church planter who count the cost and are willing to pay the price.
This is why the upcoming pastors’ conference is so valuable to them. The restoration, the camaraderie, the affirmation and the further training cannot be overestimated. It is our goal at HBI Global Partners to provide resources for every possible leader to be able to attend this conference. To us, a conference is a perk. To them, it is a lifeline of renewal.
Would you consider helping us meet the challenge of a $85,000 budget for the conference? It will take all of us to work together with gifts, both large and small. At $100 a piece, we could provide 850 leaders with travel to and from the conference, plus room, board, and conference fees.
I know you will pray for these warriors of the faith and consider partnering with them in this special gathering. Your partnership is what makes all of this possible.

May the Lord bless you beyond measure.
Fulfilling His mission together!
